Chandelier Drinking Game

Chandelier Drinking Game (pong version)

The Chandelier drinking game is becoming a modern classic. It is as much a party staple as games like Beer Pong or Never Have I Ever. Chandelier is incredibly easy to learn, and as simple as bouncing a ping pong ball off the table and into a cup so anyone can participate. It is named after the red solo cup arrangement resembling a chandelier. This game can get pretty competitive and is a great addition to any pre drink, party or beer olympics.

Players: 3+ The more players the more chaotic (and fun) this game is. We encourage gathering the whole party around to play.

Gear

  • One red solo cup per person AND an additional cup
  • Alcohol
  • Ping Pong Balls
  • Table (round works best)

Setup

  1. Fill up an even amount of alcohol in each players cup and put them in the middle of the table in a circle. (Remember which cup belongs to each player).
  2. Fill the additional cup with beer and put it in the middle of the circle, slightly elevated. (This can be on a box or on an other upside down solo cup).
  3. Have players stand around the table.

Chandelier Drinking Game Rules

  1. Choose a player to begin
  2. Beginning player tries to bounce the ping pong ball off the table and into someones drink.
  3. If the player misses the person to their left gets a turn.
  4. If the player sinks the ball into an opponents cup the opposing player must chug their drink, refill their cup and put it back. The person to the left starts the next round.
  5. If the player sinks a cup in the elevated middle cup, ALL players must race to chug and flip their cups. The last person to flip their cup must drink the centre cup, refill it and leave the table (removing their cup).
  6. The game continues until only one person remains.

The hardest part is keeping track of which cup belongs to each player. To avoid conflict you may want to write initials on the outside of the cup.

Once you learn to play chandelier drinking game you can get creative with your own rules. You may substitute the ping pong ball for a quarter for an added challenge.

Remember to pace yourself and drink responsibly. Do not over consume or drink and drive!
